About

The 'About' widget pretty much covers what I'm all about, but I thought I'd clarify a bit. I'm what you would call, more of an aspiring game designer. I like to dabble in a project here and there and sometimes I'll dive right in and actually create a game on occasion. A lot of my ideas are inspired from the games I play, but I do strive to create fresh and fun experiences to the best of my ability. If you'd like to see what I've done so far, please visit my website at http://www.howardconcepts.net

I'm a gaming enthusiast through and through. I live and breathe videogames and have been playing ever since I first picked up a controller. I pretty much play it all, PC and consoles, mobile and browser games, AAA or indie, hardcore and casual, retro and next gen, and pretty much most genres. The genres that I tend to shy away from are Sports, Simulations, and Racing, but there are certainly exceptions to all of those, usually when it's mashed together with another genre I love. If I had to choose three favorite genres, it would be shooters, strategy games, and RPGs. I do not believe videogames are evil, but rather I strongly feel that they can be a force for good. Much like alcohol, moderation is key, though it's certainly fun to binge every once in awhile eh?

Speaking of alcohol, I'm an avid beer drinker who is always looking out for new beers to try. A couple of my favorite brewers are Rogue Ales and Deschutes Brewery. Beer and videogames are just two of my favorite things and most of the time they go oh so well together. The combination is most enjoyed when playing with your closest friends and loves ones though, either in person or online.

Let's see, I'm a part of a community called CheapAssGamer, so that covers the bargain hunter part. I love the feeling of getting a sweet deal almost as much as the thing that I'm buying. Finally, the _____howie might be vague, but it's simply just how I vary my screen name. Crazyhowie is the standard, but it usually becomes Sexyhowie if I'm using a female avatar, and then other variations come from what I may be feeling like at the time, like perhaps Kinky... or more likely what type of character I'm playing as, like a Stabby rogue. The adjective usually ending in a 'y' and then you add howie at the end of it. It's a naming scheme and it's what I've used for so long that I can't really remember what I used before it, but it was somewhere around the time the original Half-life was released, that I know for certain was when I was using Crazyhowie exclusively.

There it is. That's me in a nutshell. A wordy, long-winded nutshell, but there you have it.
